2014 Tournament

THE 7TH ICKLESHAM CASUALS GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 7th Icklesham Casuals Golf Tournament was held in late July at the Weald of Kent Golf Course in Headcorn, also the venue for the very first competition in 2008.

THE COMPETITORS

It was a smaller field than usual but produced one of the closest contests to date with just one point separating the leading three competitors. Andy Vickers and Tim Linch finished level on 31 stableford points with Mike Beaumont taking third place on 30 points.

A ‘count back’ involving the last nine holes was used to determine the winner and after much checking and double checking of scores by official adjudicators, Bob Baker and Steve Beale, it was Andy Vickers who took took the trophy for 2014.

Steve Beale took the prize for ‘nearest the pin’ on the 8th hole with Richard Forrest picking up the award on the 13th. Chris Baker was winner of the ‘best holes 10 to 13’. Richard was also the winner of the wooden spoon for last place in the main competition!

Another very enjoyable competition with a welcome meal to complete the day.
