THE CIDER CUP 2017

The inaugural Cider Cup golf event took place on Friday, 1st September at the Weald of Kent Golf Course. This was a six person team competition based on the Ryder Cup between the Icklesham Casuals Golf Society and former 1st team captain Steve Beale’s Dateline Golf Society. The event was played over twenty seven holes – nine holes of fourballs, nine holes of foursomes and nine holes of singles.

The Dateline Golf Society came out on top with a 9-3 victory with the Casuals winning half a point in the four balls, one point in the foursomes and one and a half points in the singles.

The Icklesham Casuals team was Bob Baker (captain), Chris Baker, Mike Beaumont, Tony Forster, Tim Linch and Dave Stannard. The day also raised £105 for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Motor Neurone Disease Association as part of the 80th anniversary fundraising.
