Club Celebrations and Reunions
TWENTY YEAR REUNION OF THE SUSSEX JUNIOR CUP WINNERS 1963-64
The Two Sawyers Pett
Friday, 18th May 1984
A reunion was held at the Two Sawyers in Pett on Friday, 18th May 1984 to celebrate the highlight of the club’s history – the winning of the Sussex Junior Cup twenty years earlier in the 1963-64 season.
Nine members of the original cup winning side attended the evening. Repeated searching failed to track down George Noakes and sadly goalkeeper, Jim Brunger, had died. John Parsons, who missed the final through injury was also present.
The photograph taken by the local newspaper on the night also included club officials in chairman, Eric Hollingsworth, secretary, Will Dunlop and treasurer, Charlie Baker, but Jack Brown who was delayed through officiating at a football match and Chris Ades who was late arriving from Dorking were missing from the picture.
Everyone at the Two Sawyers celebration had given years of loyal service to the club and later in the evening they were joined by members of current teams.
