THE 17TH ICKLESHAM CASUALS GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 17th Icklesham Casuals Golf Tournament took place for the third time at the Weald of Kent Golf Course, Headcorn with a reduced field this year of seven competitors.

Bob Baker, the only player to have appeared in all the sixteen previous competitions, took the trophy for the first time at the seventeenth attempt finishing one stableford point ahead of Hugh Sullivan, who had led going into the final couple of holes, with Steve Beale in third place.

Both the ‘Nearest the Pin’ prize on the 13th hole and the award for best holes 13 to 18 went to Nick Sparks. Leas years winner Andy Vickers, with a low handicap as defending champions, took the wooden spoon.
